Calling Software Engineers, & Android & iOS Developers – WE WANT YOU!

Want a role with more flexibility, or to be part of a tech company where you can fulfill your true potential and flex your algorithmic problem-solving muscles? Then Take Off Labs might just be the place for you.

Our golf management software serves more than 2.5 million users worldwide, as well as thousands of clubs and specialised events that run several million golf rounds annually.

With a primary focus on the development of our software and applications, you will be working alongside other engineers and developers on different layers of the infrastructure. A commitment to teamwork, coupled with a sophisticated eye for design and passion for user experience is paramount.

Successful applicants will get to work on large scale projects and are given the opportunity to learn from and work with some of the best engineers in the industry. Our technologies of choice are Ruby on Rails for the web, Swift for iOS and Java for Android, but developers are given plenty of freedom to innovate with their choice of tools.

As an organisation, we’re super flexible too. Our teams are given the autonomy to choose their own style of working, and we have engineers based throughout Europe and some even further afield.

No matter what the location, however, everyone is united by a passion for developing industry-leading products. Whether our staff work from home or choose one of the options for office-based working – from our HQ in Cluj to co-working spaces – collaborative problem-solving is fundamental to our approach.

It is our vision that each individual is unique, software is an artform and the highest quality work is performed with trust, wellbeing and freedom. You will also be rewarded with a generous package plus benefits.

Fancy being our next intern?

As a Take Off Labs intern you won’t spend weeks sitting on your hands or pushing pencils. With the opportunity to immerse yourself in live projects, you’ll spend your time gaining an understanding of how an international software company operates, as well as developing key skills.

Internships are based from either our headquarters in Cluj, or carried out remotely. There’s stiff competition, but if you’re bright and keen to give your career a kick start, we’d love to hear from you.

What can I expect as an intern?

Real work, real responsibility and the opportunity to make a difference. You’ll get involved in work and projects that really matter and that have an impact on the business.

You will start by being assigned one of our skilled mentors and then learning the basics of the technology stack.

You’ll then progress to the development of an internship project. This may be an internal tool that we need or a new idea that we are experimenting with.

To be successful, you are expected to work consistently and maintain a constant stream of communication with your mentor.

What’s so great about our internships?

Our mentors are some of the best engineers in the business and many have previously held positions at tech giants like Google and Microsoft.

We’re also super flexible. Internship opportunities are available throughout the year making your time with us easier to fit around busy study periods. Individuals and teams are also able to choose their own style of working with us.

In addition, gain university credits whilst also gathering real world experience. And of course, part-time and full-time positions can become available to those that prove to be a great addition to the team.

Will I get paid as an intern?

No company should expect you to do an internship for nothing or below market rates – you’ll be well compensated for your efforts.

What skills do I need?

You’ll need strong algorithmic skills and experience in at least one web development framework similar to Ruby on Rails. Expertise in UI development as well as knowledge of common software engineering practices such as Git, code documentation, and continuous integration is also required. In addition, you’ll need to be fluent in spoken and written English.
